Founded in the fall of 1990, Rembrandt Chamber Players (RCP) features seven of the most highly accomplished musicians in the Chicago area, including principal members of the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Music of the Baroque. The ensemble’s unusually wide repertoire, ranging from historically informed performances of baroque classics to contemporary works by local composers, has consistently garnered high praise and recognition. Since its inception, RCP has actively commissioned thirteen new works by renowned composers from the Chicago area and beyond.

Deeply committed to fostering chamber music education and appreciation, Rembrandt Chamber Players founded an Annual High School Chamber Music Competition in 1995 that draws participants from a variety of public and private schools throughout the state. RCP created the Rembrandt Young Artists (RYA) program in 2006, providing numerous performance opportunities and coaching sessions for competition winners. For the past three years Rembrandt Chamber Players has presented The Power of Music – a four-part interactive music education curriculum designed for Chicago-area schools that lack an established music program.
