Description
One 4-week session of horseback riding classes (1 time per week for 4 weeks). Ages 4-12.
Our lessons are designed to teach children between the ages of 4 to 12 basic riding skills in an hour class one day a week, over a four week period. We ride on bareback pads and split our time riding between instruction and games in the arena and on the trails. Our classes are made up of 4-6 riders and 2-3 instructors, so instruction is individualized. Our classes take place at the OK Corral at the Rose Bowl Riders in Hahamongna Watershed Park (formerly Oak Grove Park) in La Canada.
Classes are held Tuesday through Friday, during Fall, Winter and Spring (based on the age/level of rider).
Happy Trails!
The Tom Sawyer Camp Staff
Tom Sawyer Camps’ horseback riding programs foster confidence and help each camper overcome his or her own fears. Our horses are carefully selected for their good character and patience. Campers learn to respect the size and power of the horses and develop the skills needed to control their trusty steeds. As proficiency develops, campers may participate in exciting and innovative games on horseback or go on trail rides with their group across the "desert." The sense of accomplishment that each camper gains will be evident in the dinnertime tales about his or her friends Merlin, Lady Bug, and Trucker. Safety, of course, is very important and our trained staff closely supervises each rider.
