Your child can learn to play chess or practice new strategies with one free week of Chess Nuts Summer Camp at St. Bede Elementary School in La Cañada Flintridge!

This certificate is only valid for week 1 or week 2 of the camp (July 9-13 or July 16-20). The camp runs Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The primary focus of the camp is chess, but they also undertake two weekly science projects that the students get to keep. In addition, there will be geography lessons, music appreciation lectures, and live music performances from a professional musician every week. Lunch, snacks, and beverages are provided for the students and are included in the camp. Every student receives a full size chess set and a trophy just for participating.

More than just a Chess Camp! Each day at camp, students will learn 3 different chess lessons and have ample playing time. Students will also take part in a wide variety of chess related activities such a 'The Game Show, Good/Bad Knight, The Checkmake Relay Race' as well as Chess Tournaments. There will also be 2 or 3 weekly science projects such as Magnetic Slime, Purple Ooze and The Dry Ice Cloud. Additionally, there will be weekly geography and music appreciation lessons.
