Since its founding in 1975 by Gary Sinise, Terry Kinney and Jeff Perry, the Steppenwolf has launched the careers of countless award-winning actors including John Malkovich and Laurie Metcalf. Now in its fifth decade as a professional theatre company, Steppenwolf has received national and international recognition including a series of Tony awards and The National Medal of Arts.
