Suzy is a blind elephant, who was forced to perform in a circus for most part of her life. Subjected to mental torture, continuous chaining and confinement, she was approx. 60 years old when rescued in February 2015 by Wildlife SOS and moved to the Elephant Conservation and Care Center in Mathura safely. After arriving at her new home, she has adjusted to her new environment and is always accompanied by our keepers all the time. Suzy is receiving necessary medical treatment for all her ailments and foot care for her overgrown foot pads and cracked toe-nails.

Because of her age and small frame, we typically cover her with specialized blankets on suprisingly cold winter nights in India.
