Kelly McDermott-Burns is part of the Shelter Animal Reiki Association and has donated a package of four distant Reiki sessions. These are done through meditation and can easily be set up for anyone at any time via email. The recipient will receive a certificate for the sessions.

Kelly was fortunate enough to visit the Wildlife SOS sanctuary in Mathura in 2016. On this visit, she provided Reiki to Peanut and Coconut. The photo is a quiet moment of meditation she shared with Maya.

Kelly McDermott-Burns has been practicing and teaching Reiki for over 13 years. A Teacher/Practitioner trained in the Japanese Art of Reiki by the International House of Reiki and trained in Animal Reiki by Animal Reiki Source, Kelly is a Founding and Teaching Member and the Director of East Coast Operations of the Shelter Animal Reiki Association (SARA). She is also a certified teacher of the Shibumi International Reiki Association. Kelly is a past President of the Vermont Reiki Association and currently a Regional Coordinator.

A long-time Reiki volunteer at Rutland County Humane Society, Kelly teaches Animal Reiki classes at RCHS and at shelters around the northeastern U.S.

Educating the public and private sector about the benefits of Reiki is a major focus of Kelly’s work leading to the first Reiki programs at Gifford Medical Center and Rutland Regional Medical Center where she was the Reiki coordinator.

In 2016 Kelly traveled to India as a SARA ambassador sharing Reiki with the animals of TOLFA, India, Animal Aid, LTD, and Wildlife S.O.S.

The mission of the Shelter Animal Reiki Association (SARA) is to improve the lives of animals by promoting the use of Reiki in animal shelters, sanctuaries and rescues worldwide through education, training and the advancement of Reiki programs that meet the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
