Everyone’s favorite girl, Laxmi was rescued in July 2013 in Mulund from cruel owners. While in captivity, she was forced to beg and denied appropriate, healthy food. Eating only sweets gleaned from her days of begging, she suffered from extreme obesity. The first step towards our goal of offering her a healthy lifestyle and the resulting natural, long life has been to provide a more appropriate diet for Laxmi to help her get her weight under control and to alleviate the strain on her knees. She is a 20 year old, playful pachyderm and her health is improving. She absolutely loves green fodder and enjoys a variety of fruits. Bijli and Phoolkali are her best friends and she loves playing with them in the open pool.
