Description
1 Family Membership and 1 half-day double Kayak Rental
The Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History is one of the earliest museums in California. Their mission is to connect people to nature and inspire stewardship of the natural world. There is a touch tank, a fossil crate, a bone index, a wide variety of native animals on display (mostly stuffed, although there are live bees in an enclosed hive, as well as a live snake), and a full room dedicated to the Ohlone people where you can learn about their traditions and history. It's located right next to the beach and there is a life-size whale sculpture in front that kids love to climb! If you haven't experienced kayaking in Santa Cruz Harbour, then you are missing out on one of the best nature experience available!! Chances are good you'll see otters, seals, and, if you're lucky, even whales! Tip: Bring extra changes of clothing and towels. And be aware in the morning, the winds are usually calmer, but the temperature is usually colder. Around noon and in the afternoon, the temperature is usually warmer, but the winds are usually stronger.
