La Crema Chardonnay, 2016, retail value $23.00

Sonoma Coast, California

On the nose, the 2016 La Crema Monterey Chardonnay shows Meyer lemon, passionfruit, grilled pineapple and pie crust. On the palate, nectarine, papaya and crisp lemon-tangerine notes are complemented by a touch of spice and complex minerality. Rating: avg 90 pts across vintages

Le Rose de Mouton Cadet, 2016, retail value $11.00

Bordeaux, France

With a predominance of Merlot, this soft, caramel-flavored wine is veering towards off dry. It has an attractive freshness as well as a crisp touch that makes it very drinkable now. Rating: 86 pts (Wine Enthusiast)

Castello del Poggio Prosecco DOC, retail value $11.00

Veneto, Italy

Hello Sweet Life!!  The product of centuries of spensieratezza - the Italian lighthearted way of life. Bottled in Veneto, the region famous for Romeo and Giulietta and the beauty of Venice, this crisp and fruity Prosecco with golden apple notes pairs with fresh seafood, cured meats, guilt-free desserts, and unconditional joy.

Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Summation Red Wine Blend, 2013, retail value $18.00

Santa Rosa, California

A big, bold wine that also tastes precise and structured, it has deep, dense fruit flavors like black currant and black cherry, layers of fine tannins, hints of dark chocolate and espresso. This is a great wine to stash in the cellar, as it will taste best after 2020.  Rating: 91 pts (Wine Enthusiast)

Vindemia Grenache Vermeille, 2015, retail value $20.00

Temecula Valley, California

You can’t get this wine anywhere now.  It’s not even available where the donor likely purchased it: directly from the family owned and operated winery just north of San Diego in the Temecula valley.  It’s a lovely single-varietal blush wine.  Sure to go well with crabs and other shellfish … or a Turkey dinner.  Not rated.

Red Rock Winery Reserve Merlot, retail value $11.00

Modesto, California

Aromas of ripe cherry, strawberry, and raspberry, framed by a touch of sweet vanilla flavor. The palate is rich, giving flavors of briary blackberry and raspberry fruits.  Bold flavors of blackberry and raspberry complement the supple tannins in this Merlot, creating a well-rounded wine with a smooth, velvety finish.  Not Rated.
