This handmade block displays a print of Katrina Lund's sketch of the native Globemallow plant in bloom. As one of the few orange flowers in the desert, she loves how the globemallow petals capture the light.  The original sketch was done in lower Courthouse Wash.  The block is signed by the artist and displays a print on salvaged wood from local cabinet shops. It can stand on its own or be hung.

Local artist, Katrina Lund, was the 2015 Community Artist in the Parks for the Southeast Utah Group of the National Park Service. Katrina spent over 400 hours in Arches and Canyonlands national parks and Natural Bridges and Hovenweep national monuments sketching and interacting with over 300 visitors. She created over 100 sketches, including the three sketches from which the prints on these blocks are created.
