Powell Point is an imposing piece of geology – something of a Goliath among imposing rock structures in the Dixie National Forest near Escalante, UT. Margie painted this version of it one day during the Escalante Canyon Art Festival, driving up with some artist friends in search of a piece of beauty. "One hour to get there, two hours to paint, the whole day to enjoy the vistas. Good stuff."
