Description

This "Teacher Wishlist" donation will be used to purchase an IEC Microwave Apparatus, which is ideal for teaching many aspects of optics in TMS's Physics Lab.

The IEC 'Microwave Apparatus, 2.8cm wavelength' is ideal for teaching many aspects of optics. The kit consists of a compact portable Transmitter run by PlugPak or 12V.p/supply, a compact portable Receiver run by battery or LV.p/supply, a diode probe with cable, a set of 3x metal reflectors, a semi-reflector, a polarizing grille, a diffraction grating, a microphone and a 240/12V.AC.PlugPak.

From Fred Kral, Physics teacher: "This system is for making meaningful measurements of many aspects of optics, particularly polarization, diffraction, and interference using wavelengths more suitable than light."
