Artist's statement:

Bridge

Standing at the bay of the Mystic River in Charlestown, looking at the silhouettes of the bridge and the city against the vibrant sky, my feelings are soon drawn away. The power of nature and the urban landscape compose a magnificent image, which harmonize well together.

About the Artist: 

Jianci Liang grew up in Guangdong, China. Although educational opportunities were limited for Ms. Liang and her family, her passion for art was boundless. At an early age, Jianci taught herself how to sketch.  â€‹Jianci moved to the United States in 2006 and, five years later, at the age of 23, took her very first art lesson at Bunker Hill Community College.  She never thought it was too late to “get serious about art”. Instead, she says, every single moment of her journey presents new challenges and beginnings.

For Jianci, drawing defines happiness. When she begins her creative process, Jianci says, her “heart pounds hard, and fills with joy”.  In the future, Jianci hopes to continue to share her love of art.
