Description
1 hour session Mounted/horseback archery lessons at Fairy Nectar Farm in Bodega with Hilary Merrill of California Centaurs As Seen in the Argus Courier "Merrill, who has been riding horses since her childhood, said she found herself quickly hooked on the thrilling nature of the sport, which requires her to ride her horse at a gallop with no grip on the reins, rapidly firing off arrows at targets along the track. Horse archery has existed for centuries as a tactic for warfare, hunting and protecting herds, but the art was reborn as a modern sport around the early 2000s, Merrill said. Horse archery adds a whole other dimension to equestrianism."
After 25 years in 3-Day Eventing and Hunter/Jumper, Hilary now focuses her training and instruction on Horse Archery and pressure/release horsemanship that creates a foundation for success in this sport. She loves working with kids of all ages and adults of all levels in pursuing their equestrian goals. Hilary has an HA3 ranking from the International Horse Archery Alliance and competes both domestically and internationally.
The lessons are for all levels/ages.
