Our very own Mr. Sanchez is letting you get away from it all for two nights in his rustic, 100-year old cabin in Chantry Flats (Big Santa Anita Canyon) known as "Fiddler's Crossing #80" (if Googled). 

This cabin is not the "resort type" as it is not big and fancy, but it's a great place to get away for a couple of days and excellent place for someone that likes to hike. There are trails that lead up to Mount Wilson and other campgrounds. The deck is a great place to "sit, relax and people watch" as it is the first stream crossing that leads to the waterfall.

Comfortable for 2-4 people to sleep, it's like camping in a "hard shell tent". It has a fireplace and heater stove for warmth. It's only accessible by hiking (1 1/2 mile = 30 minute hike) and a five minute hike to Sturtevant Falls. There is solar power and a generator for some electrical items (but there is little need for it and you don't have to tell your kids), propane for a stove and outdoor grill, cold running water (no shower) and an outhouse.

There is no cell phone reception (although some Verizon phones do get a few bars). Everything (supplies/food/trash) needs to be carried in and carried out or arrangements need to be made with the packing station at Chantry Flats (for a fee) and they will bring it in on mules. Caution does need to be taken due to forest fires and wild life (bears, deer, mountain lions, ect...)
