Have you ever wondered what it is like to experience the thrill and excitement of riding is a fully marked Sheriff’s Office car with the emergency lights strobing and the siren blaring while in route to the unknown? The Sheriff’s Office wants to give you that experience!
This exciting auction item is a Sheriff’s Office “Ride to School”. One student, with up to two friends (optional), will be picked up at the student’s residence, secured safely in a fully marked Sheriff’s Office Dodge Charger, and driven to school with lights and sirens activated.
The student will be shown all of the equipment inside the vehicle and how to operate each item. The student will be driven around the neighborhood in non-emergency mode for 10-15 minutes as the deputy talks about the job and answers any questions the student might have. The student will then be allowed to activate the emergency lights and siren for the remainder of the ride to school.
Pulling up to school the siren will be deactivated but the lights will remain on. The Sheriff’s Office deputy will give the student an escort to the front door. Pictures are more than welcomed.
Special Instructions
Disclaimer: Although the emergency lights and sirens will be activated, the vehicle will be driven at reasonable speeds for the conditions. A waiver will be signed by the parents prior to the ride starting and will need to be signed by friends parents if they choose to bring a friend. If friends are selected, they will need to be at the student’s residence prior to pickup so all are collected at the same time. The ride will happen between June 1st and the last day of school. All weapons inside the squad car will be removed with the exception of the deputies personal sidearm. School officials will be made aware prior to arrival to the school.
