Description
Woodworker Jeff Parish custom designed carving from monkeypod and mango carving with Inlay, 13"H X 9"W
______
Jeff Parish, born on Oahu and the 7th generation of my family in Hawaii, I have lived in Kona since 1959. I take great pride in being born and raised in the islands, which is reflected in the Hawaiian and local style of my designs and wood creations.
Woodworking has long been a hobby and passion of mine. As a young boy, I would spend hours in my Grandfathers garage making anything I could out of his wood pile. Mostly made a lot of sawdust, but sometimes I made something beautiful, at least according to my Grandmother.
I’ve had a few different careers in my life, auto mechanic, charter boat captain & graphic designer. All great and interesting professions, but making something beautiful out of a raw hunk of wood, is still one of my favorite and most satisfying things to do.
Since retiring, I now spend most days surfing in the mornings, then into my shop designing and creating beautiful and unique pieces using exotic woods from Hawaii and around the world.
I strive to design creative works of art and function. Things that no one has seen before, and always made with Aloha.
