It’s a blend of Syrah and Grenache Noir made by cooperative winery Les Vignerons de Fontès in the Hérault department.
Tasting Notes
This Languedoc Rosé wine comes in an elegant pink salmon color, a little pale although not too much so, just enough to make it look like the typical French dry rosé.
The nose suggests a dry elegant style as well, with subtle and crispy citrus aromas of lime and grapefruit more than the ripe red berry aromatic profile sweeter rosés tend to display.
Some pomegranate, pear, and touches of white pepper make for a pleasing nose, offering plenty of finesse as well as vibrancy to the smell.
The palate confirms this is a dry rosé like it’s typical in the South of France more than anywhere else.
Yet, this is a much more powerful and pungent rosé than your average Provence one. The style and flavors are not dissimilar: intense lime and lemon flavors, heaps of grapefruit, fresh gooseberry and redberry come with a touch savory acacia leaf vegetal character. It’s dry and fruity, but also slightly savory at the same time, with hints of saltiness make it salivating and juicy. This will make it very favorably food-friendly as well.
Opulent body on a crisp and mineral acidity join the intense favor profile. All elements highlight that we are here with a concentrated rosé made with purpose, also providing much elegance and finesse.
