Located at an elevation of 7,300 feet in the Sierra Nevadas, just a 45 minute drive from South Lake Tahoe, Kit Carson Lodge is quiet, comfortable and unpretentious. It has been providing a superb Lodge experience for over 90 years on the shores of beautiful Silver Lake.

You’ll stay in either Cabin Deer 1, Deer 2, Snowshoe, Red Squirrel or Gray Squirrel. All of the cabins are built of cedar with knotty pine interiors and have full kitchens with a refrigerator/freezer, gas stove and sink. There is a private bath with shower and an outdoor deck for lounging (a Charcoal Grill is provided). Cabins are equipped with a wood burning stove as well as a propane wall heater. The resort provides all of the wood during your stay. There are no housekeeping services provided.  

Enjoy Silver Lake, a fishing paradise, from the sandy swimming beach or from a canoe, kayak or motor boat. Or fly fish in one of the many nearby streams.

No expiration date. Guest must pay taxes and fees: 10% lodging, 4% Forest Service Fee (based on the retail value of the certificate), $10 per night Preservation Fee. Kit Carson is open from the first Friday in June until early October.
