To mark the 60th anniversary of the Series 7 Fritz Hansen have treated Arne Jacobsen's classic to a collection of new monochrom suit. Danish designer Tal R has created a new range of colours for the iconic Series 7 chair and the anniversary editions of the 3107 radiant a coherent harmony that transports itself perfectly into any domestic situation or landscape. Chevalier is an oriental orange. With its air of aristocracy and fine riding horses, Tal R describes it as the most exclusive colour on the new scale.

The Series 7 Chair debuted in 1955 at the H55 exhibition in Sweden, and the appeal of what remains one of the most copied chairs of the modern era is its shape. The chair is ideally suited to the human body, its seatback has a comfortable “give,” and its waterfall seat edge doesn’t press into legs. Arne Jacobsen, who was instilled with a love of materials, shaped the core of Danish design identity when he accommodated three different bends in one piece of plywood, simply by narrowing the chair back.
