Description
The Council was created in July of 2005 in the caves at Pisoni Vineyard by Jerry Yang, Jim Varner, Bob Varner, Kyle Ditzler, Gary Franscioni and Gary Pisoni for the purpose of creating a Pinot Noir from Rosella's, Garys' and Pisoni vineyards. Separate two barrel lots from each vineyard are blended together by the members to create the Council wine. Whatever wine doesn't go into the blend is declared "Anti-Council" and bottled under it's own label- just as good, in a different style.
All grapes are the "Pisoni" clone of Pinot Noir. As legend has it, Gary Pisoni liberated the cuttings from the La Tache vineyard in Burgundy. The Council label plays on this association, while the Anti-Council label shows that it is more a salute to that famous wine than a copy of it. Council wines are made in very small quantities and available only at charity events.
You are bidding on one bottle of the 2013 Anti-Council Pinot Noir.
