A treasure of a card postmarked Charlottesville, VA  8/30/1907 of Ashlawn, the Monroe Home and sent to one of Mollie McCreary's relatives.  It states the Monroe home cost $3,000 to build!  Card printed in England.

On the front of the postcard: "Monroe Home, near Charlottesville, VA., Showing Pine Tree Planted by James Monroe."

Question to friends in Virginia:  How is that beautiful tree?  Would love to know if tree is still there!
