Beatles Inspiration: Twist and Shout

KC had a fabulous time creating their multi sensory piece. 

1. First we played 'Twist and Shout' and other fave Beatles' tunes in the classroom and boogied and grooves while Stephanie and parent, Melissa Nesic, took pictures of us. 

2. Next we used beautiful water colors to dye the canvas and create groovy color patterns. It got messy and it was awesome!

3. Next we cut out the black and white photos of us dancing and put them into the twisting spiral that represents the "Twist" of our song "Twist and Shout" and spirals of all facets of life- DNA, snails, plants even! Very deep, man.

4. Lastly we talked about The Beatles and their music and what they represent and came up with words and symbols to write into the canvas in the style of another great artist we have been learning about-JEAN MICHEL BASQUIAT.
Voila! It was a great experience.
