Join The Florida Aquarium team on an invite-only weekend retreat on June 29! This experience of a lifetime is going to be turtle-y amazing. You will have the opportunity to learn about this incredible phase of a sea turtles life and learn more about wild turtles by participating in a research trip with an intimate group of The Florida Aquarium donors. Well be joined by research partners from the University of Central Floridas Marine Turtle Research Group. As a citizen scientist, you will shadow these researchers and witness a part of nature that very few others have. Your journey begins at the Sea View Inn in Melbourne Beach, with two-nights accommodations for up to four guests (in one room). Melbourne Beach, FL is a significant area for loggerhead and green sea turtle nesting, and this Oceanside resort is reserved strictly for The Florida Aquariums research trip. On Friday evening, you will have the option to participate in our group dinner at DeAngelos By The Sea. From dinner, we will proceed to the bunkhouse to learn about what to expect during the nesting retreat. Over the next two days, youll learn about a variety of turtles from Loggerheads to Leatherbacks and participate in field research that is critical to ensuring the wellbeing of wild turtles. This program supports the Aquariums mission to educate, entertain, and inspire stewardship of the natural environment. In addition, youll learn about what The Florida Aquarium is doing to ensure turtles can continue to thrive in the wild and simple acts you can make to make a difference.
