More than a million and a half visitors of all ages have viewed art from the private collection of Swiss proprietor Donald Hess at the Hess Collection Winery since it opened in 1989. During the 40 years Hess has collected art, he has maintained the same guidelines: he uses his intuition and is not influenced by fashionable trends or how well-known an artist is. His main criterion is that the art has to touch him so deeply that it “haunts” him for at least a week before he purchases it. Now, you and five friends can explore the Hess Art Museum on an art tour hosted by Rob Ceballos, Hess Art Museum Director. Featured artists include Franz Gertsch, Robert Motherwell, Francis Bacon, Anselm Kiefer, Magdalena Abakanowicz, Leopold Maler, and Gerard Richter.

After the tour, enjoy lunch for 6 at the Napa winery. Executive Chef Chad Hendrickson utilizes local organically and sustainably-grown products to create fresh seasonal recipes to pair with Hess Collection wines. Chad strives to individually pair the unique flavors and textures in each wine with complementary flavor combinations in the dishes he creates.
