Jamelle Cornley was the first Penn State player to earn Big Ten Freshman-of-the-Year honors and the third straight named to the All-Freshman Team, Cornley led all Big Ten Freshmen in scoring (11.4 ppg) and rebounding (5.7 rpg) in 2005-06.  At 6-6, 235 pounds, Cornley established himself as Penn State's most physical player and an emotional catalyst.


During his sophomore season he earned All-Big Ten honorable mention honors (coaches & media) and shared Penn State's team co-MVP award with Geary Claxton.  Her combined with Claxton to produce 47 percent of Penn State's scoring and rebounding in Big Ten play.


His junior season started and ended with injuries causing Cornley to miss six games, but he still managed to reach 1,000 career points.


It was during his senior year when his team with Talor Battle and Stanley Pringle just missed the 2009 NCAA tournament and won the NIT.  Cornley was the named the tournament MVP.


After Penn State he played professionally across four continents through Uruguay, Argentina, Israel, France, Philippines, Mindanao, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Israel and Korea.


He won a national pro championship with the Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters in the Philippines on a team that included State College High grad and 2006 Final Four participant Gabe Norwood.
