Two (2) hour organ lesson with Americaís celebrity power couple, Cherry Rhodes and Ladd Thomas. Join them in sunny Glendale, Calif., and spend an hour working with Ladd on hymn playing and/or anthem accompaniment, and an hour with Cherry working on recital repertoire and/or preludes and postludes for your church services. CHERRY RHODES is the first American to win an international organ competition. During her brilliant career she has toured extensively throughout the major music capitals of America, Europe and Asia with recitals and festival appearances in concert halls and churches around the globe. She has been featured at numerous AGO National and Regional conventions and many of her recorded performances have been broadcast internationally and are found on several classical music recording labels. Cherry Rhodes is Adjunct Professor of Organ at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music. Many of her students have won awards, grants, and top prizes in competitions in the United States and Europe. As a sought-after musician, she gives master classes and frequently serves as adjudicator for competitions in North America and Europe and most recently in Shanghai where the first pipe organ competition in China was held in 2017. LADD THOMAS has been presented in recitals and concerts throughout the United States and abroad as soloist with numerous major orchestras and performing with several world-renowned conductors. He has recorded with important ensembles as well as for many sound tracks of motion pictures including ìHome Aloneî, ìWitches of Eastwickî ìDie Hardî and many others. Since 1967, Dr. Thomas has served on the faculty of the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music where he currently is Emeritus Professor of Organ and Chair of the Organ Department. In 2017, he taught several Masterclasses and private lessons during the Shanghai Conservatory of Music International Organ Festival. Since 1960 (58 years), Ladd Thomas has been the organist of the First United Methodist Church in Glendale, Calif.
