Dr. John Courtney has been a photographer since middle school. One of his friend’s father had a darkroom where he and his friend learned to develop black and white film and photographs. Subsequently working on school newspapers and yearbooks, John worked at two respected custom photo labs learning from highly skilled technicians there. His work has been exhibited in Louisiana, Indiana, Chicago and now New Mexico.

As an aside, John has a day job. He’s a clinical neuropsychologist and medical psychologist. He is the current psychiatric provider at Presbyterian Medical Service/Socorro Mental Health.
