Description

One of the most popular axes in production to date, this Double Bit axe is iconic and rightly so.

The axe head is a popular Michigan Pattern weighing in at 3.5lbs. The reliefs in the steel are called phantom bevels and help reduce the surface area to limit the likelihood the axe will stick.

This axe has a long history dating back to the Viking society. Some times called a battle axe the tell tale doubled edge allows for a multitude of chores. Splitting wood, falling lumber and even serving as a stable work surface in the field, it is one of the most versatile axes ever produced.

The handcrafted hickory handle is made from a hand picked piece of American wood. Hickory is the most traditional handle material used in the USA. Its characteristics make it ideal for a handle. The spring it possesses allows for great impact absorption so fatigue is minimized. The light weight material is strong enough to endure even the most critical use. The axe and handle were hung by hand for a fitment that exceeds any other manufacturing process to date. The use of traditional hand tools like a draw knife and draw horse make for a challenging assembly, but one that is unmatched in quality and performance.
