Robert Douglas Hunter graduated from the Vesper George School of Art and studied independently with Henry Hensche, and R.H. Ives Gammell. He won 14 Richard Mitton Gold Medals at the Jordan Marsh New England Artist Exhibition, the Newington Prize and many other awards. His work is found in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Provincetown Art Association and the CCMoA. Hunter is listed in Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in the East and is included in "Perspectives on the Provincetown Art Colony." WGBH honored Hunter for his continuous support over 30 years; and in 2011, he received the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts.
