Gail Turner, of Mill Stone Pottery, creates both functional and decorative pieces. Each one is wheel-thrown and/or hand-built using slabs, extrusion, or hand-pressed techniques. Her interest lies in an exploration of patterns, pursuing this through diverse methods of creating textures and rhythms. Influences range from mud cloths from the Congo, to patterns of bark on a tree, to sand ripples left by receding tides.
