Lifetime Adoption of Lewis, a 6-metre male whale shark tagged off East Africa

Item Number: 747
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Win a Lifetime Adoption of Lewis, a 6-metre male whale shark tagged by the Shark Research Institute off East Africa.
Lewis was tagged by the Shark Research Institute more than a decade ago, and sometimes goes on 'walk-abouts' (disappears for a year or two), but he was seen again earlier this year swimming with two other whale sharks.
This is a lifetime adoption and no annual renewal is needed. Every time Lewis is seen again his guardian will be notified.
Special Instructions
The Shark Research Institute began tagging whale sharks in 1993 and some of them are available for adoption.
Although there is no guarantee that Lewis will be spotted again (he is a wild animal), all of the whale sharks tagged off East Africa up for adoption have been sighted again in the past year.
The winning bid is deductible from US Federal 2018 income taxes as a Charitable Donation. A tax receipt will be issued to the winning bidder.
