Vocalist René Marie has forged a reputation as one of the top singers in current jazz, and also as a versatile arranger, composer, and theater performer. Guided and tempered in jazz traditions laid down by Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and other jazz leading ladies, she borrows various elements of folk, R&B, classical and country to create a captivating hybrid style.  The performance is Friday, June 21, 2019, at 8:00 pm at Howard Community College.
