UrbanGlass Glassblowing Experience

Item Number: 162
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Experience the magic of glassblowing with a visit to the Brooklyn studios of UrbanGlass, a nonprofit open-access art center that supports the creative use of glass as an art material.
Learn about the history of this fascinating material from ancient Egypt to contemporary artists with MCS parent Andrew Page, the editor of Glass: The UrbanGlass Art Quarterly, and then watch an hour-long demonstration in the studio as an artist shapes a glass object with input from your group.
Bring your child’s whole class for an educational and entertaining afternoon outing, or keep in small with your own family or friends. This unique weekend experience will be scheduled for a Saturday or Sunday, and is subject to the studio's availability. The finished glass object will be yours, and must be picked up from UrbanGlass or can be hand-delivered to MCS.
