Once and Future Wine is the return to the original vision winemaker Joel Peterson had for Ravenswood so many years ago – a small project specializing in wines from unique older vineyards, made with a sensitivity to place and in a style that he personally loves.

Bedrock Zinfandel: Situated on the Agua Caliente Bench, Bedrock is one of the premier vineyard plots in Sonoma Valley, having grown grapes for more than 150 years. The wines have an aromatic raciness and fine tannin structure that renders them elegant and long-lived. There is a cinnamon warmth to the fruit but more tannin, more freshness, a certain sleekness and spice.

Palisades, Napa Valley, Petite Sirah: The Petite Sirah from Palisades Vineyard is a lovely, evocative wine even darker and spicier than Zinfandel. This Petite is a masterstroke with a difficult grape. Perfumed and rich in all the good ways, with accents of India ink and nutmeg, plus a taut blue fruit aspect and a classy, subtle texture.
