The northern island nation of Iceland is one of the year's hottest destinations for tourists. Don't let the cold deter you; Iceland might be near the top of the world (just below the Arctic Circle), but its winter temperatures can be warmer than those in New York. Iceland's dramatic natural wonders are nothing short of magical, making this an enchanted adventure of a lifetime.
Hotel Accommodations
Enjoy a 5-night stay for two in a standard room at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica, Alda Hotel, Radisson Blu or comparable hotel in Reykjavik. The capital city is world-renowned for its culture, history and natural beauty on all fronts. Includes roundtrip motor coach transportation to and from Keflavík International Airport.
Northern Lights by Boat (mid-September to mid-April)
Iceland is one of the best places in the world to witness the wonder of the northern lights. This small group bus tour is led by a professional local guide who is very experienced with Iceland's climate and natural environment. Please keep in mind that the northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Should you choose to explore Iceland from late-April to mid-September, Reykjavik Whale Watching will be substituted for the Northern Lights Tour. During the summer months in particular, the shores become a veritable feeding ground for multiple species of large marine mammals, including Minke and Humpback whales, dolphins and porpoises.
Reykjavik City Walk
Get to know the area where you will be staying! Enjoy a guided small group walking tour in the heart of Reykjavik with a friendly local. Over the course of your 2-hour walk, your knowledgeable guide will introduce you to the landmarks and highlights of the downtown area while pointing out great restaurants, charming cafes and points of interest in Iceland's charismatic capital city.
Blue Lagoon
Take a dip in the famous Blue Lagoon geothermal spa, truly one of the wonders of the world! Surrounded by immense lava fields, the seawater in the Blue Lagoon provides an oasis of relaxation. The sauna and steam rooms, carved into the lava rock, reflect the stunning landscape around the Blue Lagoon. The man-made waterfall works wonders on sore shoulders and stiff muscles.
Golden Circle Tour
Visit some of Iceland's most famous attractions of the classic "Golden Circle" route in South Iceland. One of the many highlights on this journey is Þingvellir National Park, a place of great historical and geological significance that is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Other attractions include the beautiful two-tiered Gullfoss waterfall and the spouting hot springs Geysir and Strokkur. This is a full day guided small group tour (maximum of 20 guests).
South Coast Tour
Your day begins with the main attraction, the picturesque Seljalandsfoss waterfall. In addition to the stunning scenery, there is a pathway leading behind the waterfall and out the other side, giving visitors a chance to view the falls from within. Continue on to the black volcanic sand beach south of Vík, Iceland's southernmost village, to view the spectacular rock formations Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar. The last stop before heading back to Reykjavik is the graceful, 60 meters high Skógafoss waterfall. This is a full day guided small group tour (maximum of 20 guests).
All excursions include motor coach transportation to and from hotel.
