Description

High quality handtools make classes more enjoyable for beginners and instructors alike. These are among the best gouges available, with high quality steel that holds a fantastic edge. Help North House to aquire four of these for woodworking course!

Made by renowned Swedish wood working tool makers Hans Karlsson Klensmide AB.

The relatively short edge and medium sweep of this gouge makes this a good tool for roughing-out wood in smaller spaces or in smaller quanities, typically used to hollow small / medium size bowls.

In bowl carving terms, as a bent gouge, this tool's role is to remove wood lower down in the bowl after an adze or a straight gouge.

The blade is made from high quality ball bearing steel (SS2258) so will take and hold a great edge.  Hardened to 60 - 62 Rockwell

The lightly oiled handle is made from locally grown Swedish ash and is designed for comfort in the hand.

Beautiful tool extremely well finished, sharpened and honed ready to use
