2015 Philippe Livera Gevrey-Chambertin en Champs Domaine des Tilleuls

Bright ruby-red; a bit less saturated than the Clos Village. Black fruit aromas are complicated by a musky animal quality. More clenched and less showy in the middle palate than the Clos Village but showing lovely saline mineral lift and energy. There's bit less baby fat here--and possibly concentration as well--but this wine stands out for its balance and supple back end.
