Bennett Valley: Terroir at its Finest
Grey Stack is focused on making great cool climate wines from Bennett Valley. Bennett Valley’s unique climate, soils and history grow wine grapes of equally unique character and intensity. The fruit we work with is farmed mindfully and sustainably and we make our wine with as little intervention as possible, without being overly dogmatic.

Farming is at the heart of Grey Stack Cellars efforts. Chris Bowland, our vineyard manager, is the foundation of all our winemaker efforts. Our vineyard sources have been carefully selected to reflect the different micro-climates Benentt Valley have offer. Patrick Sullivan, our winemaker, brings experience and expertise to our winemaking that you can’t put a value on.

Lindsay McArdle and sister, Tracy McArdle are the newest partners to join the winery. Both born and raised in Chicago, they developed a passion for wine that drove them west to wine country. Living here close to a decade now has given both a deep understanding of the importance of terroir. After they discovered Bennett Valley and Grey Stack Cellars, it was a no-brainer they wanted to be involved.

Peter and Marie Young started Grey Stack Cellars as a way to showcase, what they believed was, the untapped potential of Bennett Valley and Dry Stack Vineyard. Since departing, they have left an incredible legacy that Patrick Sullivan, Chris Bowland, Lindsay McArdle and Tracy McArdle humbly carry on.
