Head to Yosemite's South Gate and Ride the Logger. Two adult tickets and two child tickets will get you a one-hour, narrated ride on an open-air log or covered passenger car through the Sierra National Forest. Enjoy a brief stopover in the Lewis Creek Canyon to see the locomotve up close or explore the outdoors before your return trip to the station.
Vintage Shay locomotives provide the steam power for this one hour journey.
While you are there, pan for gold, check out the gift shop for souvenirs and grab a bite to eat at the Station Sandwich Shop
