A teasing mildness in the air foretells the advent of spring. The ends of the tree branches tremble with anticipation of bursting out in new green leaves. The sun is coming back from its southern journey. Enjoying a day outside, the artist has used the motif of a reflection in a bay window to celebrate the coming of spring. The technique of aquatint dates back to the 17th century, when it was a "secret process" used by cartographers. Jane lives on Cape Cod. This painting depicts the colors seen when the pickleweed turns color in the fall. Pickleweed is an edible succulent plant found along the edges of the marsh.
Jane Lincoln holds a MFA from Massachusetts College of Art & Design. She is known for her use of color. She is listed in Art in America Guide 2018, Who's Who in American Art, and is featured in Cape Cod Arts 2018. Representation includes Cove Gallery, Wellfleet; Kingston Gallery, Boston; and Kentler International Drawing Space, Brooklyn.

This item can be shipped or picked up at the Attleboro Arts Museum from November 6-10, 2018. The Museum is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10am-5pm. The winning bidder is responsible for all shipping and handling costs. The artist retains all reproduction and copyrights.
