Description

Acrylic & sand

28" x 22" x 0.75"

The many colors in this piece reflect the ribbon colors of all the illnesses and cancers that have personally affected the artist. She has lost some but fought for all. The colors in the piece seem to be swirling around a light in the middle. There are rough times as demonstrated by the course sand also enveloped in the piece. There is beauty in every person's struggle as they fight for the light at the end of the tunnel.

Julie St. Jean is a local small business owner who donates part of her profits to charities close to her heart. She hopes her art will inspire others to see the beauty of the chaos created by illness and help in whatever way they can. As so many people have, the artist has been touched by cancer and other diseases. She wanted to bring to life the colors of the ribbons used to bring awareness to the diseases that have personally touched her life.
