"Rhode Island Mussel" is from her series of more than seventy sculptures of native Rhode Island shellfish. Each one is individually sculpted in stoneware clay. Mrs. Thompson blends underglazes with similar techniques she uses in her watercolors before traditional bisque and gloss kiln firings. This functional sculpture is oven and food safe and can be hung on the wall or displayed on a flat surface.
Elinor C. Thompson received her MFA from Boston University School for the Arts and her BA from Colby College. An award-winning artist, she has recently shown in national, regional and local juried shows at Newport Art Museum, Providence Art Club, NE Watercolor Society, RI Watercolor Society, among others. A former art teacher for nearly 30 years, she has devoted the last few years to working primarily in water media and stoneware sculpture.

This item can be shipped or picked up at the Attleboro Arts Museum from November 6-10, 2018. The Museum is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10am-5pm. The winning bidder is responsible for all shipping and handling costs. The artist retains all reproduction and copyrights.
