Marian has always loved thistles.  They are so unique - being both beautiful and dangerous at the same time.  She thinks of them as old-fashioned, even though you still see them around today. This piece was exhibited at the AAM Members Show in 2016.

Marian Wrightington still paints things that she loves, often with a historical connection.  Her R.R. Switch Tower painting was on tour this year, first at the AAM Members Show, then the Industrial Museum, Attleboro City Hall, and at the Expo for the Senses. The painting was displayed with a survey asking residents for their opinions, it raised awareness of the building's plight. She greatly appreciated her art being used in this way.
