Platypus Wine Tours provides an intimate, yet social and lighthearted way to see and taste the best that the Napa and Sonoma Valleys have to offer. The winning bidder and one lucky friend will visit four charming, hidden gem wineries (many of which are family owned) and enjoy a delightful picnic lunch with an informed tour guide and taste some of the world's best wines.

This is a social tour. You'll board a "small group" shuttle, usually with eight to twelve wine-interested adventurers on board visiting an ever-changing selection of smaller, intimate wineries ideal for individual travelers, couples and small groups of friendly people. Your guide/driver will point out notable landmarks and wineries along the way. You'll tour a winery, take in some extraordinary views, maybe stroll through the vines, get a flavor of wine country history, hear stories and learn about wine making. This is not a boilerplate tour - it's different every day, and it's fun!

Our group join-in tour lasts about 6 hours and visits 4 wineries. We specialize in wineries that are small, boutique or family owned, and off the beaten path. Depending on where you are staying, the tour starts around 10:15am, and lasts until about 5pm. 

We include a picnic lunch at one of the wineries, chilled bottled water, and a cheese and cracker tray. The only things not included are tasting fees, which are about $15 per person at each stop, and any gratuity the guest chooses to leave for their tour guide.
