Rare 1950's S. No. Grasso Catania terracotta man and boy riding a donkey with two jugs. The figurine is made in Italy, very detailed and in excellent condition. Signed by artist, S.no Grasso to the side of base. The underside is incised S. no Grasso, Catania, Made in Italy. Retains original sticker, No. 106A.

The Grasso family lived in Catania and the art started with Paolo Grasso in 1876 and has been passed down from generation to generation. From Paolo to Giuseppe and Randazzo in 1916 to Giovanni in 1925 and then to Anna in 1957 and Giarre in 1999. 

Measures 6 1/2 inches tall x 5 inches long. Base measures 3 3/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches.
