In 2018, Chita Rivera was presented with a special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement. One of Broadway’s most beloved stars, she has garnered 10 Tony nominations, winning twice for  Best Actress in a Musical for The Rink and Kiss of the Spider Woman. In addition to her extraordinary Tony achievements, she was presented with the Kennedy Center Honor in 2002 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama in 2009. One of Broadway Cares’ greatest champions and longtime trustee, Ms. Rivera and Broadway Cares have shared a passionate love affair with Broadway for more than 20 years.
