An annual tax refund can offer a critical financial boost for low-income families who depend on seasonal employment – providing a means to fill a budget gap, pay for major expenses like home repair, or allow them to build an emergency savings fund.

Last year, UVFC provided free tax preparation assistance for 732 households, and helped bring back $887,000 in State and Federal refunds – an average of $1,211 per family.
