This is a wonderful find for a collector of Civil Defense memorabilia. This lot contains 3 brochures.



  • The Family Fallout Shelter released by the Office of Civil and Defense Mobilization and dated 1960. The booklet is 32 8.5"x11" softbound pages.

  • A Family Action Program: Home Protection Exercises, third edition, July 1955, was released by the Federal Civil Defense Administration. It is a softbound 8.5"x11" booklet of 40 pages and includes lines for the family to fill in names of family members responsible for particular tasks.

  • What People Can Do About Rural Civil Defense: Notes for Speakers and Writers was developed by the Federal Extension Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Office of Civil Defense. This 10"x7.75" 15 page booklet provides short concise messages that the government felt the communities needed for preparedness.

Special Instructions

Winning bidders may pick up items at the IAEM Silent Auction booth on Oct. 24 between 1:00-2:30 p.m. Items not picked up or items won by bidders not attending the conference will be shipped following the conference. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the winning bidder. The shipping charge will be added after the auction is completed and the destination is determined. Items will be combined into one shipment for winning bidders of multiple items to save on shipping costs.
