Description

First minted before the Civil War, the Indian Head Penny was one of the longest-running unchanged designs in U.S. coinage. Then, in 1909, its spectacular 50-year reign suddenly ended. Today, most Americans have never even seen this bold and beautiful testament to the First Americans, which is coveted by collectors and revered by historians.
